The Hindu group has recently released the second edition of the book Sri Ramana Maharshi.
This is a wonderful book that delves into the life, teachings and legacy of Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi and the ashram. The content in the book significantly differs from the previous biographies and reminiscences of Bhagavan in its presentation. The content curator, Mr. T.S. Subramanian, has meticulously researched the narratives and confirmed it with the current devotees of Bhagavan residing in the ashram. A good part of the photo collection is exclusive, courtesy Sri Ramanasramam and some of the photographs are by Mr. S.R. Raghunathan.
The first forty pages of the book discuss the biography of Bhagavan. The next few pages of the book are devoted to how the current administration preserves the aura of spirituality and how the legacy is preserved in the archives of the ashram. The final section is on Arunachala, the wonderful divine Hill. If Bhagavan was attached to anything in his life, it was this Hill. The book also contains two fold-out posters: one of the Maharshi reclining on the sofa in the Old Hall and the other of the route of Giri pradakshina of the hill.

1935லிருந்து 1939வரை பகவான் ஸ்ரீ ரமணருக்கும் அவரது பக்தர்களுக்குமிடையே ‘Old Hallஇல் நிகழ்ந்த உரையாடல்களைப் பழம்பெரும் பக்தர் முனகாலா வேங்கடராமையா அவர்கள் மிகக் கவனத்துடன் குறிப்பெடுத்தார். அவையே பின்னர் ‘Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi என்ற ஆங்கில நூலாக உருப்பெற்றது. அந்நூலின் தமிழாக்கமே இது. உண்மையில் இதைப் படிப்பவர்களுக்கு இது ஒரு மொழிபெயர்ப்பாக இல்லாமல் மூல நூலாகவே தோன்றினால் அதில் வியப்பில்லை. ஏனெனில் இதைத் தமிழாக்கிய விசுவநாத சுவாமிகள் பகவான் ரமணர் பயன்படுத்திய தமிழ்ச் சொற்களையே பெரும்பாலும் தந்திருக்கிறார். ‘Talks அசல் பத்தரை மாற்றுத் தங்கம் என்றார் பகவானது ஆங்கிலேய பக்தர் மேஜர் சாட்விக். ‘வசனாம்ருதம் தேவாம்ருதம் என்பதை வாசகர்கள் உணர்வார்கள்.
இந்நூலிலுள்ள விஷயங்கள் மேம்போக்காகப் படித்து, விட்டுவிடக்கூடியவை அல்ல. உண்மையை நாடிச்செல்லும் ஒவ்வொரு சாதகருக்கும் இந்த நூல் பெரும் வழிகாட்டியாக அமையும் என்பதில் சந்தேகமில்லை. பகவான் ஸ்ரீ ரமணரின் போதனைகள் பெரும்பாலும் மௌனத்தின் மூலமே நடைபெற்றன என்றாலும், ஆன்மதாகங் கொண்ட பக்தர்களின் ஐயங்களை அவர் சிலகால் தமது திருவாய் மொழிகளால் தெளிவித்ததும் உண்டு. அவற்றில் சிலவனவே இந்நூலில் காணப்பெறுகின்றன.
ஆன்மிக வாழ்வின் எல்லா விதமான அம்சங்களைப் பற்றியும் அவரிடம் வினாக்கள் வினவப்பட்டன. கேட்பவர் ஒவ்வொருவரின் ஆன்மிக நிலைக்கேற்ப மகரிஷி தந்த விடைகள் கேட்டவரின் ஐயங்களை மிக எளிதில் தீர்த்து வைத்தன. பிரச்சினைகளின் சுமை அகன்றதும், அவர்கள் இதயங்களில் அமைதி நிலவியது. மகரிஷியின் ஸாந்நித்யத்தில் அவர்கள் அரிய சீரிய அக அனுபவம் நுகர்ந்தனர்.
இந்நூலைப் படிப்பதையே சாதனையாகக் கைக்கொண்டாலும், அதுவே நம்மை நம்முள் அழைத்துச்சென்று ஆன்ம மூலத்தில் அமர்த்திவிடும். இந்நூலின் ஒவ்வொரு வரியும் ஆழ்ந்து படித்துணர வேண்டியதாகும். வாசகர்கள் இந்நூலைக் கசடறக் கற்று அதற்குத் தக நின்று உய்யுமாறு பகவான் ரமணர் அருளுவாராக!

ஸ்ரீ பகவானிடம் ஒரு குழந்தையின் உரிமையுடன் பழகிவந்த முதலியார், பல சாதகர்களின் ஆன்மிகக் கேள்விகளுக்கும் தனக்கே ஏற்பட்ட சந்தேகங்களுக்கும் ஸ்ரீ பகவான் அளித்த விளக்கங்களை தனது குறிப்பேட்டில் எழுதி வந்தார். இவை ஆங்கிலத்தில் டே பை டே வித் பகவான் என்று 1952-இல் புத்தகமாக வெளியிடப்பட்டு தற்போது தமிழில் மொழிபெயர்த்து வெளியிடப்படுகிறது.

Der Engländer Arthur Osborne kam 1945 nach Tiruvannamalai und lebte bis Ende 1948 mit seiner Familie in unmittelbarer Nähe von Ramana Maharshi. Als er anschließend in Madras eine Anstellung erhielt, besuchte er seinen Meister so oft er es ermöglichen konnte. Ramana Maharshi starb 1950 an einem Krebsgeschwür. Vier Jahre später veröffentlichte Arthur Osborne die erste vollständige Biografie ‘Ramana Maharshi and the Path of Self-Knowledge’, in der er nicht nur das biografische Material, das er vorfand, verarbeitete, sondern auch seine eigene Erfahrung mit seinem Meister schilderte.

During the four years from 1935 to 1939, Munagala Venkataramiah, a veteran devotee and the author of this work, painstakingly recorded the conversations that took place in the Old Hall between Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and his devotees.

This is the fourth revised edition of Conscious Immortality first published in 1983. It is a record of conversations and observations made by Paul Brunton and Munagala S. Venkataramiah, the complier of Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi during the second half of the 1930s. Just over half the record in Conscious Immortality can also be found in Talks.
Since Brunton’s notebook is a historical document, the ashram has reprinted the notebook adhering as closely as possible to its original format and style. The editing has been minimal.

The author has packed into this small volume all the essential information relating to the life and teachings of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi (1879-1950).
The life of Sri Ramana Maharshi fills us with wonder. As a teenager, hardly seventeen, he realised the Self through a spontaneous act of Self-enquiry without any conscious effort on his part, or any training imparted by a teacher. He left his home (at Madurai) in 1896, came to Arunachala (Tiruvannamalai) where He lived as an all-renouncing sage, in a state of continuous Self-absorption for a period of fifty-four years — until his mahanirvana in 1950.
The invaluable, timeless instructions given by Sri Ramana to his early devotees like Sivaprakasam Pillai, Frank Humphreys, Kavyakanta Ganapati Muni, Sadhu Natanananda and others, at their request, are all portrayed here by the author.
The author also describes the experiences of Paul Brunton and later devotees.
Sri Maharshi’s message is that Self-knowledge is a fait accompli and is not something to be acquired afresh. It is only becoming aware of one’s own natural state of Pure Being, through Self-enquiry.
The spirit of this simple but profound message has been captured by the author in his presentation.

திரிபுரா ரகசியம் ஆதியில் பரமேச்வரனால் மகாவிஷ்ணுவிற்கும் மகாவிஷ்ணுவால் பிரம்மாவிற்கும் உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டது. பின்னர் மகாவிஷ்ணு தத்தாத்ரேயராக அவதரித்து இவ்விரகசியத்தைப் பரசுராமருக்கு அருளினார். ஹரிதாயனர் பரசுராமரை அடைந்து அவரால் உபதேசிக்கப்பட்டார்.
ஹரிதாயன ஸம்ஹிதா என்றும் அழைக்கப்படும் இத்திரிபுரா ரகசியம் 12000 சுலோகங்கள் கொண்டதாகச் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. மூன்று காண்டங்களாக வகுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. (தேவி மாகாத்மிய காண்டம் 6687 சுலோகங்கள், ஞான காண்டம் 2163 சுலோகங்கள், சரியா காண்டம் தற்போது கிடைக்கவில்லை). இதற்கு வடமொழியில் தாத்பர்ய தீபிகா என்ற வியாக்கியானமும் ஸ்ரீநிவாச பண்டிதரால் சென்ற நூற்றாண்டில் இயற்றப்பட்டுள்ளது.
